HEALTH RULES FOR BEEF CATTLE

All animals must have an official breed ear tag or official legible breed registration tattoo.


 

1. All cattle must comply with livestock health rules and regulations.

2. Registration papers must be on hand and present at time of check in and show.  Electronically stored registration certificates are NOT accepted – only the original certificates issued by the Association, no copies.

3. All animals must be registered as the property of the exhibitor, or in the family farm name with a parent or a sibling of the exhibitor listed as owner, in the records of the Association, in which the animals are registered in, as of the late entries close for the Breeding Beef Cattle.

4. Any animal with pending registration or without a legible tattoo will not be eligible to show, and will not be permitted to stay at the fairgrounds.

5. Exhibitors will be expected to display or parade animals as directed by the Superintendent; to accept the stall assigned without controversy; to keep their animals in an attractive appearance, and to cooperative with the Departments in every way that may serve to increase the educational value of the show.

6. Exhibitors must have all animals listed for competition on the grounds no later than 5:00 pm, August 14.  All animals shall remain on the premises until 10:00 pm August 20, unless released by the Superintendent.

7. The exhibitors will be expected to keep the space they occupy in a clean and sanitary condition and to remove all their equipment promptly as the Superintendent may direct.

8. Exhibitors must inform themselves as to when their stock will be judged.  Stock must be in the ring promptly on call and a failure to comply with the order renders exhibits liable to be ruled out of competing.

 

OTHER GUIDELINES

1. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in charge of owner or owner’s representative.

2. When on exhibition in the ring, Junior people showing, the fair should have people available for assistance.

3. All exhibitors must be Fulton County residents or a member of a Fulton County 4-H or FFA club.

4. This is an open show, if there are enough exhibitors there will be an open and a youth show.  In which case youth show age will be 19 years old or younger as of January 01, 2016; unless the exhibitor is a member of a FFA club then FFA age rules apply.  Proof of age must be on site for check-in and the show to be eligible to show.

5. Entry registration deadline is July 15, 2016; they must comply with fair rules on this.  All exhibitors must have met the pre-registration deadline and all guidelines to be eligible to turn in entry registrations and have them processed.

 

Section 1                        Breeding – Beef Cattle

 

All cattle must be purebred and registered, any breed allowing percentages to be registered must be at least 75% blood of the breed in which the cattle are registered in. Any cattle bearing less than 75% blood of the breed in which it is registered in will be shown in the category other (1100).  All papers must be on site at check-in and the show to be eligible to show. 

Entry Fee: $5.00 per Head by July 15

NOTE: The same classifications and premiums stated below to apply to each breed.  Use the following designations for breed classes:

 100 – Angus      200 – Charolais         300 – Chianina           400 – Hereford (Horned or Polled Competing)  

 500 – Limousin  600 – Maine Anjou     700 – Mainetainer       800 – Red Angus

 900 – Santa Gertudis          1000 – Shorthorn (Horned or Polled Competing)

1100 – Simmental               1200 - Other
