Festival of Lights

2022 Fulton County Festival of Lights
“Information & Light Display Form”

- First of all. Thank you!!!  This Local Community Based Event has no chance of being a success without your participation.
- This event is intended to be mostly a “Drive Through” Christmas Light Display located at the Fulton County Fairgrounds & will be viewed by the general public on the evenings of Friday, December 2nd & Saturday, December 3rd  and the following week on Friday, December 9th & Saturday, December 10th.
- The general public will enter the fairgrounds & view the lights for a nominal fee of $5.00 per vehicle.
- Participants will create & display their own individual Christmas Light Displays for the general public to see.  The displays will be placed along the perimeter of the fairgrounds.
- You may create a Christmas Light Display as simple as a sign with your CHURCH, CIVIC ORGANIZATION, SCHOOL GROUP, BUSINESS, or FAMILY name with some decorative lights and a sign wishing viewers a “MERRY CHRISTMAS”.  Or be very creative and invent a display that everyone will be talking about.
- There is a $25.00 display participant fee (payable to Fulton County Fair Assn.)
- Electric power will be available; please have several long {at least 3 or more depending on the # of lights you have -- 50 feet long} “HEAVY DUTY” extension cords and splitters to run electric power for your lights.   If you have a small generator, you may use that too.
- Participants can set up their Christmas Light Displays between Monday, November 21st and Wednesday, November 30th.   We try to keep the Fairgrounds locked and secured.  Please contact Michelle or Kerry to make arrangements to get in and set up.  Please do not call prior to 5pm during the week as both work during the day and are unable to receive calls.  However, you may send text messages anytime.  Michelle may be reached at 717-816-3419 and Kerry  at 717-552-0027.   They would prefer to only receive text messages during hunting season (Nov 26-28).  Please remember to allow yourself enough time to get your display finished. We suggest completing it by Wednesday evening, November 30th (that’s 2 nights before the event opens).
- Christmas Light Displays will be lit from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM on both weekends.  Someone from the Festival of Lights committee will light all displays before each night’s event and turn them off at the end of each night.   You will not need to be present at the event.
- We will be utilizing the Rabbit Barn as a “Festival of Lights Welcome Center”.  We will offer free refreshments (includes coffee, hot chocolate and cookies).
- Santa will be in the “Welcome Center” both weekends for children (of all ages) to visit and provide their wish list.  Goodie bags will be provided to the children who visit with Santa.  Located in “Welcome Center” will be a train display as well as a local writer of children’s books to read to the children .
- Photo backgrounds will be available in the “Welcome Center” for folks to take photos for those Christmas cards.
- Vendors will be set up in the GSR Museum building with crafts, candles, jewelry, etc.
- Participants may begin tearing down and removing their displays starting Sunday, December 11th . We would like to have all displays removed by Sunday, December 18th.   Again, we attempt to keep the Fairgrounds secured.  If you are unable to fit teardown into your schedule during the time period above,  we are willing to make other arrangements, but please coordinate with Michelle or Kerry.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact
